JUST LIKE THE POEM is a poem by a Nigerian poet, Adedeji Raphael, that tells the story of a lover's regret
JUST LIKE THE TEARS is a poem that tells the story of a lover's regret
You were like the clothed waters in my eyes
Dancing to the thoughts of happiness
Swirling up its heart with love
Gently, patiently voyaging on the path of the green mind
Beautifully, enclosed for the Rhythmical flip of the dancing eyes
For where lies the beauty, if not the eyes?
Just like the shade of mushroom
Holding the comfort of Jonah
I was dampened into your cloak of watery kindness
As the tide carries me far but not close
Just like a mirage,
My thoughts were the replicas of your beauty.
But not for long,
as pain rode in
Staining your beautiful world,
Piercing through your emotions with the dagger of doubts
And so you wept, your blood dripped
Killing you softly, as every torch
Of feelings lefts crippled into the darkness
Waiting, until a new dawn sets
A new thought, new mind
New emotion, new drops
But just like the tears
You left and never came
But until now, none dare to fill your space
For the hope in my dreamy eyes
Is as dry as the barren desert
Just like the tears,
You were .
A drop drops
All love lost!
