The 6th edition of the literary contest features the works of the following poets: Samuel A. Adeyemi, Divine Inyang Titus and Ebubechukwu Ifenna Udeob
Following the recently concluded poetry contest tagged "Nigeria Students Poetry Prize", the organizers of the contest have announced the winners, with Samuel Adeyemi taking home the first prize. The Nigeria Students Poetry Prize is annually organized by PIN(Poets In Nigeria); one of the prestigious and recognized literary organization in Nigeria, most especially among students.
The 6th edition of the literary contest features the works of the following poets:
Samuel A. Adeyemi, Divine Inyang Titus and Ebubechukwu Ifenna Udeoba as winners. The award ceremony was held at the University of Ibadan.
Details
Adeyemi, a 300-level student of English and Literary Studies, Federal University, Lokoja clinched the first prize with his poem titled “Portrait of Water” while Titus, a 500-level student of Fisheries & Aquatic Environmental Management, University of Uyo came 2nd with his poem titled “A Naira Shy of Rebirth”. “Stories in the Wind” authored by Udeoba, a 300-level Law Student, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Uli won the 3rd prize.
According to PIN, 247 poems were received from students representing 64 tertiary institutions including universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, schools of nursing and seminary schools.
