Judges' Comment
The shortlisted entries were nothing short of works beautifully crafted. They offered creative expositions on the themes "Immersion" and "Reminiscence."
We are glad to read the beautiful inkings of amazing poets and spoken-word artists in our maiden edition.
Poetry, as a genre, is utterly beyond weaving words into complex lines and stanzas. It encompasses immersion in the art and the ability to draw creative reflections therefrom. Similarly, spoken word has provided a platform for the conveyance of ingenious messages through artistic expression.
Assessing each of the shortlisted poems and spoken word and picking a winner was a tough ride. All entrants in both categories submitted superb works of effort and skill, hence, the difficult
Nevertheless, for some of the entries, just a few more touches of creativity and clarity could have better adorned the budding beauties therein. Of course, the art chooses us, and we, as objects of this choice, can always be directional in our pa(r)ths to riding this art. For therein lies the beauty.
