Lonely Moonlight is a poem by S. Abdulwasi'h Olaitan
LONELY MOONLIGHT
___the lonely moonlight unfolds
a clear secret, a direct secret of my existence
the chorus behind the jubilation of leafs within
the snoring of the wind, _how they carry
their own epitaph in every direction they roam.
___the lonely moonlight reveals a secret
through her disappearance at gray of the morning
& her appearance at tail of the evening.
dear child, by this
i am simply saying
“all possessions are loans,
even my breaths.
___yesterday, a seed. today, a rose.
tomorrow, i will be a dust borne
if i remain a seed, that makes me a misser
if i remain a rose, my fragrance
would be spread all over, in and out of jannah
just to say i am a sinner.
if i remain a dust borne i would probably
be somewhere around the pool
of kawthar, turning each and every tears
that escape the battlefield in my
ocean eyes into a prayer;
pray. i will pray to God,
i will sing to God,
i will sing an emocore to God,
about my aggros.
