Nigerian artist, Anthony Azekwoh, launches a short story competition inspired by his painting “The Bridesmaid”

Nigerian artist, Anthony Azekwoh, launches a short story competition inspired by his painting “The Bridesmaid”. Announced on the artist's X account, entrants are required to post a 280-character story inspired by the artwork, quoted with the hashtag #BridesmaidbyAA. 

The short story competition was sponsored by Elizabeth Tsehai. The cash prizes for the top three winners include $300, $200, and $100, with the grand prize winner also receiving a signed print. 

The deadline is Friday, September 12, 2025 (18:00 WAT), with winners announced the next day.
